Racine man arrested for battery after road rage assault with baseball bat

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine man is now facing several charges after a road rage incident turned violent.

Banks faces charges of Aggravated Battery, Criminal Damage to Property, and Disorderly Conduct. 

Racine Police were dispatched to Douglas Hardware for a reference of a road rage incident that turned into an assault.

It happened at the end of November.

The victim told police he was cut off by a vehicle in the area of Mt. Pleasant Street and Layard Avenue. The victim said he then entered the parking lot of Douglas Hardware and the suspect, later identified as Banks, allegedly followed him and exited his vehicle with a baseball bat.

The victim told police that Banks struck him while he was holding his phone recording the incident.

The victim said that Banks then got back into his vehicle and sped off, almost striking him.

Banks will have his Preliminary Hearing on January 24.
