Racine County Sheriff's Office: Car hit by semi into barrier wall hydroplaned before crash

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A driver is expected to be okay after a car hydroplaned and was hit by a semi in the town of Yorkville.

The crash happened around 1:30 Friday morning on I-94 north on CTH KR. A caller said a car was hanging over the east barrier wall of the interstate in a construction zone. The driver told investigators he had been hit by the semi and pushed into and on top of the barrier wall. The driver was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Sheriff's Office says the semi that hit the car was found north on the interstate near the 27th Street off-ramp. Investigators say the car had hydroplaned and spun out on standing water before being hit by the semi. The northbound lanes of the interstate were shut down for about an hour after the crash.
