Racine County District Attorney cited for OWI and hit & run

RACINE-- Racine County District Attorney Rich Chiapete was cited for OWI and hit and run Friday night.
The accident reportedly happened near Chiapete's home at the intersection of Melvin and Main Streets.
Chiapete issued a statement to the Racine Journal Times and said that he was coming from a birthday party. He said that he had a few drinks and initially panicked and left the scene.
He apologized and said that he exercised extremely poor judgment.
