MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Pulaski High School in Milwaukee is being recognized for an achievement officials have been working towards for three years.
On Thursday morning, the school was authorized as an International Baccalaureate or IB school.
Interim MPS superintendent Keith Posley joined Pulaski staff, students and families to make the announcement.
"This gives us an opportunity to compete on the international stage as well as the national stage and now young people can gain college credits and go off to the universities and may not even have to take as many classes when it comes to the freshman year of college," said Posley.
Pulaski High School joins 27 other IB schools in Wisconsin.
