MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Calls for justice continue on Monday, Aug. 5 for D'Vontaye Mitchell, who died after a struggle with guards at a downtown Milwaukee hotel last month.
Family and supporters gathered outside the Milwaukee District Attorney's Office, renewing demands for charges against the four hotel employees involved in the incident leading to Mitchell's death.
One participant referred to the medical examiner's report when speaking to the crowd, saying, "You saw them choke out the life of D'Vontaye Mitchell. You have the ME's report, and the ME's report clearly rules it a homicide. And we are demanding the charges for D'Vontaye Mitchell."
The autopsy report, released last week, ruled the immediate cause of death as restraint asphyxia, with contributing factors including the toxic effects of cocaine and methamphetamine.
Officials from the District Attorney's Office stated they are considering the report and other information to determine if charges should be filed.
