’Black Nativity’ returns to Milwaukee for 9th annual production
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Protesters fighting for immigrant rights marched from the south side of Milwaukee to the downtown office of Senator Ron Johnson on Saturday, May 1.
Voces De La Frontera Action and the VDLF Essential Workers Right Network organized the march.
They want congress and the Biden Administration to stop deportations, expand COVID-19 recovery resources to non-citizens, and grant citizenship to all.
"Immigrant essential workers have been risking their lives and their health and that of their families while keeping others safe, healthy and fed," one protester said. "Their status makes them more vulnerable to retaliation and higher rates of sickness and death from the lack of protections and exclusion from the government aid."
Saturday also marked 100 days of the Biden Administration.
