WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County were out supporting a group of people in need Tuesday.
The event, called Project Homeless Connect, helped people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity in Waukesha County.
Guests received access to nearly 50 services and resources, provided by more than 100 volunteers on hand.
"I think homelessness is more prevalent than people realize, especially here in Waukesha County," said Community Impact Manager Krystina Kohler. "We want to make sure we're preventing homelessness whenever possible and connecting people to resources whenever they need it."
This year's attendees at Project Homeless Connect had access to health care like flu shots and vision and dental screenings.
More than 60,000 in clothing, hygiene and other resources were given out, and free laptops went to low-income households.
If you or anyone you know is struggling with housing, call 211 to be connected to your local resources.
