Previewing Oriental Theatre's August schedule, including a Cat Video Fest with tickets available 'meow' 🎫

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Oriental Theatre is set to host a variety of special events throughout August.

The theater will be showcasing Cat Video Fest, a two-day event on Aug. 25 and 26. It will feature a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and animations.

A portion of the proceeds from each show will go to a cat-focused causes.

A one-night screening of "Cade: The Tortured Crossing" will take place on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. The film stars Neil Breen as an identical twin brother who mystically trains patients in a restored mental asylum as warriors for humanity.

St. Vincent De Paul Society of Milwaukee will hand out coupons for one free VHS at the event.

A weekend of Hip-Hop Cinema is also scheduled at the theater from Aug. 24 through 26. In partnership with "Hip-Hop Week" by the Office of Alderman Khalif Rainey, Milwaukee Film will present a series of electrifying screenings.

The films will pay homage to the genre and include titles such as "Menace II Society," "Belly, and the documentary "Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes."
