Powerball jackpot over half a billion dollars

(CBS 58) -- The Powerball Jackpot has swollen to more than half a billion dollars. 

The $550 million jackpot is the eighth largest in history. No one has matched the winning numbers yet this year. 

Wisconsin has 16 jackpot wins since Powerball’s 1988 inception. The state’s most recent jackpot winner was a Milwaukee resident in 2017.

Powerball tickets cost $2 each. The next drawing is Wednesday night and tickets must be bought before 9:00 p.m. the night of the drawing. 

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1:292.2 million.
