Power outage affects 5,400 customers in Waukesha

UPDATE: A We Energies spokesperson says the remaining outages in Waukesha have been restored. 

WAUKESHA, WI (CBS 58) -- We Energies crews are working to restore power to a good portion of Waukesha and the Town of Waukesha this morning.   The outage was first reported around 8:30 AM and affected an area on the south side of the city.   At its peak, the outage affected nearly 5,400 customers.    A We Energies spokesperson says power was restored around 10:40 AM to about 1,600 customers.   Crews are still working to restore the power to the remaining 3,800 customers.   We Energies believe an equipment issue may have caused the outage.
