Waukesha County Sheriff's Department investigating possible attempted child abduction

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department says that presently, the search for the man in this case has ended. 

The sheriff's department reports that the man was not found and has yet to be identified.

This case is still under investigation.

The sheriff's office would like to thank the City of Waukesha Police Department for their help with this search. They would also like to thank the public for tips that have been called in.

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office is looking into what could be a possible attempted child abduction that happened on Tuesday, June 27, just after 1 p.m.

A child was walking their dog on Green Country Road at Oak Grove Lane in Waukesha when they were confronted by what authorities believe to be a white man, with tan or dark colored skin, on foot.

The man is described as middle-aged, 5’9” – 6’ tall with a scruffy or short beard. He was wearing a black T-shirt with sleeves past the elbow, black shorts past the knees, and dark colored tennis shoes. He was last seen walking south from the area.

The child was unharmed.

Law enforcement is currently looking for the suspect.
