Portions of 101, 110 Freeways Closed as Over 200 Firefighters Battle LA Apartment Fire

More than 200 firefighters were battling a blaze at an apartment complex under construction early Monday morning in Downtown Los Angeles.

The building at 909 W. Temple St. caught fire just before 1:30 a.m. The large fire consumed that building and scorched two nearby structures.

Due to the size of the fire and the logistics of fighting it, crews have shut portions of the 110 and 101 freeways as well as several surface streets.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or a cause of the fire.
