Police looking for man who entered apartment, inappropriately touched sleeping woman

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (WISC) -- Platteville police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who entered a downtown apartment early Sunday morning and inappropriately touched a resident.

Officials said an unknown white man entered an unlocked apartment around 4:50 a.m. in the downtown 2nd Street area and began inappropriately touching an adult female while she was sleeping.

The man is described as heavy set, with facial hair, and was wearing a baseball hat and a black hooded sweatshirt with a green shirt underneath, according to a release.

A resident of the apartment chased the man, who was last seen running east on Cedar Street from Park Place, police said.
