Suspected drunk driver flees scene of crash in Racine
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police say they're investigating after shots were fired between two vehicles Monday evening.
Officers responded to the area of 62nd and Mitchell due to reported gun shots. Witnesses said that two vehicles fled from the area and were chasing each other at a high speed.
The cars reportedly crashed into one another in the area of S. 71st Street and W. Becher Street, where more gunfire was heard. Police say they found shell casings at this location.
The cars chased each other northbound and out of the area.
Ben Gabauer was outside when he saw the people in two cars start shooting at each other.
"You don't see it everyday," he said. "You hear about shootings, but you don't really witness them."
There have been no reports of individuals struck by the gunfire at this time.
Detectives are on scene investigating.
