MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Popeyes near 15^th and National around 6 p.m. this evening.

Milwaukee police tell us that it appears a 28-year-old male from Milwaukee was shot while he tried to intervene in a robbery attempt inside the store. He suffered what is believed to be a non-life threatening wound and is currently being treated at a local hospital.

The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Milwaukee police continue to investigate. We will continue to monitor this story and bring updates as they become available.
