Police: 45-year-old Cudahy man arrested after his mother is fatally shot

CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) - A 45-year-old Cudahy man was arrested after his mother was fatally shot in a Cudahy home near Lunham and Kirkwood around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, July 25. 

According to officials, the Cudahy Police Department responded to a residence following a 911 call of a subject shouting for police to respond. Upon arrival, officers found a 65-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. Cudahy EMS and South Milwaukee Med 10 responded, but lifesaving efforts were not successful. 

A 45-year-old Cudahy man, who also lives at the residence and was the son of the victim, was taken into custody, according to police.

The Cudahy Police Department is not seeking any other suspects. 

Official identification of the victim has not taken place. 

Cudahy Police was assisted by the Saint Francis Police Department and Milwaukee County Sheriff's office.
