Plane Makes Precautionary Landing in Milwaukee Due to Mechanical Issues

MILWAUKEE - A plane had to make a precautionary landing at General Mitchell Airport this evening due to a mechanical issue.

According to Southwest Airlines, The captain of the flight which was operating from Sacramento to Chicago-Midway precautionarily declared an emergency after receiving an instrument indication of a potential performance issue with one of the aircraft's redundant flight control systems.  

The flight was able to land safely.

The aircraft is out of service for maintenance review and the six crew members and 142 customers will travel on another aircraft to Chicago-Midway, arriving approximately two hours behind their scheduled arrival time.
