Pet of the Week: Spike, a 6-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix

Spike, a 6-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix, is looking for his forever home. He is the Wisconsin Humane Society's Pet of the Week. Spike is a lap dog and very affectionate, but he needs a home without children under 8. Staff says he is also not a fan of other dogs.

"He really wants to be your dog. He wants to be an only child," said Allie Christman of the Wisconsin Humane Society. "He has so much love to give, and he's going to be so worth it."

To learn more about Spike or any adoptable animals from the Wisconsin Humane Society, call (414) ANIMALS.

In addition to adoptions, the Humane Society hopes people will consider making an end-of-year financial contribution to the facility. Christman says the Humane Society receives 25% of its yearly donations in December alone. There are several ways to give back including through the "Hope's Light" program or by sponsoring an animal.
