MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police say the woman who was hit and killed has been identified as 56-year-old Laurie Strothenke.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police say a 56-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by a car near 99th and Bluemound Road close to the Milwaukee County Zoo around 7:15 a.m.
Investigators say the woman was walking when she was hit by a car driven by a 72-year-old man. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the man stayed on scene and is cooperating with them.
The investigation is ongoing.

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) – A pedestrian is hit near 99th and Bluemound, according to the Wauwatosa Fire Department.
The Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed they have been called out to the scene.
Currently, all lanes eastbound lanes of Bluemound Road are closed at 99th Street due to the crash.
