HARTFORD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The 80th U.S. Women's Open is coming to Erin Hills at the end of the month. Nearly 60,000 fans will come to Wisconsin for the biggest event in women's golf.
The recent run of professional golf major tournaments in the Badger State began with this very tournament at Blackwolf Run in Kohler back in 1998.
Now here in 2025, nearly 2,000 golfers tried to qualify for the exclusive event that is designed to test the best of the best in women's golf.
"This year's U.S. Women's Open will put the world's eyes on the Hartford region with incredible economic impacts for this course and this community. People will come from all over to make their way to Wisconsin to meet the friendliest people. We are absolutely Wisconsin nice." Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez.
Erin Hills will be just the 16th course ever to host both the men's and women's U.S. Opens.
