Pedestrian killed by driver in Burlington identified as uncle of Robin Vos

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An 88-year-old pedestrian is dead following a crash in the city of Burlington early Tuesday, Dec. 23. 

According to the Burlington Police Department, just before 5:15 a.m., authorities were called to State and Main Street -- just east of the Fox River -- for a report of the crash. 

Authorities say an initial investigation indicates the victim, identified as James Vos of Burlington, was attempting to cross the 100 block of N. Main Street from a private parking lot when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on N. Main Street. 

We've confirmed the victim is the uncle of Assembly Speaker Robin Vos. 

The driver of the striking vehicle, a 41-year-old Burlington woman, was not injured. Officials say she remained at the scene following the incident.
