Pedestrian hit by car near Oakland and Newberry on city's east side

The Milwaukee Police Department is currently investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to the 2800 block of N. Oakland Ave. around 1:15 p.m.

A pedestrian was hit by a car which remained on scene after the incident.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. There is currently no word on their condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.
