Paris Vigils Taking Place Downtown Milwaukee and UWM Campus

There will be two vigils for the Paris Terrorist Attacks on Monday in the city of Milwaukee.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee community is holding a vigil at 4 PM on Monday in Spaights Plaza, according to a release from UWM.

In a statement to the campus, UWM Chancellor Mark Mone said, “I know that we are all shocked and deeply saddened by this tragedy. On behalf of UW-Milwaukee, I express our sympathy and support for all Parisians and French citizens and their families.”

There will, also, be a vigil at 5:15 PM Monday at the southeast corner of Water and Wells streets.

In addition, several civic groups are arranging for the mini-Eiffel Tower normally on display at Bastille Days to be erected Monday at Milwaukee’s City Hall.
