Parent accused of assaulting MPS employee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A parent of a Milwaukee Public Schools student is being accused of assaulting an employee at school. 

A criminal complaint says back in March, Milwaukee police responded to Riverwest Elementary School for reports of a parent punching a school district employee. 

After arriving, they found the injured employee. 

The man who was injured told police the parent, identified as 37-year-old Equanis Williams, punched him after accusing him of spitting on Williams' son. 

Williams is facing several battery charges. 

He could face up to seven years in prison and $20,000 in fines.
