Panthers pick up third straight home win

A UWM Panthers team that has struggled at times this season needed to get on a roll and gain some confidence, and it appears they've done just that.
Matt Tiby scored 19 points and added 13 rebounds, and Steve McWhorter added 17 points in UWM's 71-65 win over UIC Thursday night at UWM Panther Arena, the Panthers third consecutive home win.
The score was tied 28-28 at the half, but some late runs by the Panthers helped them separate from the Flames. Cody Wichmann hit a couple of threes halfway through the second half, each of them giving UWM the lead. Justin Jordan finished it off with a key three with :20 to play.
The Panthers will try to extend the home win streak to four games when Detroit visits the Panthers' home arena Saturday.
