Packers vs. Cancer campaign underway to help raise awareness and funds for research

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Packers are raising awareness for all types of cancers through their Packers vs. Cancer campaign.

The Packers will recognize cancer survivors on the field during pregame, the national anthem, and halftime activities during the Packers-Saints game on October 22.

A special Vince Lombardi cap is also at the Packers pro-shop.

$5 from each hat sale will go to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.

The Packers are also inviting fans to join in the effort through a text-to-donate campaign. The Packers will match up to $10,000 of the money raised. To participate, fans can donate $10 to the campaign by texting “Packers” to 50555 from Oct. 16 through Oct. 22. All of the proceeds will go to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.
