Packers sign Flynn

GREEN BAY - The Packers worked out and signed Matt Flynn Monday, one day after another injury to a starting quarterback.

Seneca Wallace's groin injury caused him to sit out most of Sunday's loss to the Eagles. Scott Tolzien performed well enough to be named the starter for Sunday's game in New York, but Flynn is now in the familiar position of backup.

Flynn backed up Aaron Rodgers for several seasons in Green Bay, filling in as a starter for Rodgers twice. Flynn set what was at the time a Packers record with six touchdown passes in a game in the final week of the 2011 season against the Lions.

Flynn has been released by the Raiders and Bills this season. The Packers had reportedly contacted Flynn after Aaron Rodgers' injury, but waited until Monday to work him out.
