Packers legend LeRoy Butler selected as finalist for Pro Football Hall of Fame

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Green Bay Packers legend LeRoy Butler has been selected as a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This is Butler's first time as a finalist and is huge step for the four-time All Pro safety.

Butler tweeted the news on Thursday, Jan. 2.

What an amazing experience getting that phone call saying I am a FINALIST FOR THE @PROFOOTBALLHOF!! I'm not SPEECHLESS often but I was close! Thank you to all the @PACKERS fans who support me. You are my MVP's! I AM HONORED TO BE A @PACKERS FOR LIFE!

Butler is already a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and is also on the NFL All-Decades Team for the 1990s.
