Packers finalize practice squad roster, sign Ahmad Brooks
After trimming down their roster to 53 players yesterday, the Green Bay Packers made room for additional players on their practice squad as well as modifying the active roster.
Sunday, the Packers officially signed linebacker Ahmad Brooks to the active roster. To make room for Brooks, the Packers traded linebacker Jayronne Elliott to the Dallas Cowboys.
Another move made by the Packers was the signing of linebacker Chris Odom after he was released by the Falcons on Saturday. To make room for Odom, the Packers placed tackle/guard Don Barclay on the injured reserve.
After cut down day yesterday, the Packers lost several players that had successful pre-season performances. Some of these players were welcomed back to the team via the practice squad.
The Packers will start the season with two quarterbacks on the active roster. Joe Callahan, who was cut yesterday, cleared waivers and the Packers were able to sign him to the practice squad as their third quarterback.
Other members of the practice squad include:
G Kofi Amichia
CB Donatello Brown
WR Michael Clark
LB Reggie Gilbert
DT Izaah Lunsford
LB Derrick Matthews
G/T Adam Pankey
S Jermaine Whitehead
WR DeAngelo Yancey
