Overnight Closure in Place All Week Along 84th Street for I-94 East Bridge Demolition

Major construction has been scaled back during the winter months throughout most of the area but work continues on the state’s largest construction project, the Zoo Interchange.

As work continues on the Zoo Interchange Construction Project, nightly closures are necessary.  The latest is the demolition of the I-94 East bridges over 84th St.  Crews began working on removing the old stretch of roadway in preparation for a rebuild. In order to not impact either of the commutes, demolition will take place during the overnight hours until next week.

During the nightly closure, drivers should use either 92nd St. or 76th St. as a detour to get around the area of construction.

On the freeway, commuters have already been shifted to the newly completed westbound stretch of      I-94 until the eastbound corridor is completed.

The Zoo Interchange Construction Project is scheduled to be completed by 2019.
