Over Twenty Departments Battle Three-Alarm Barn Fire in Town of Somers

TOWN OF SOMERS - A barn in Somers is a total loss after a fire broke out shortly before midnight.

Somers Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a report of a barn fire at 240 County Highway H. Crews pulled out of the station within two minutes of dispatch and could see the flames in the air even though they were miles away.

The fire was upgraded to third-alarm shortly after crews arrived on scene.

The east end of the barn was fully involved and was quickly spreading to the whole barn, two nearby buildings, and a tractor. Somers was assisted by twenty other departments to fight the fire.

No injuries were reported to people or animals. 

The Kenosha County Fire Investigation Task Force is currently determining cause and origin which remains undetermined at this time.
