Over 100 Employers will be at a Job Fair at State Fair Park

Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Ray Allen announced today that over 100 employers with more than 3,000 job openings have registered for the Milwaukee Career Expo from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19 at the Wisconsin State Fair Park – Expo Center.

Job seekers must register and receive a ticket to attend the hiring event.

"The Milwaukee Career Expo provides job seekers with access to many area businesses across all industries seeking to fill immediate job openings," said Secretary Allen. "I strongly encourage job seekers to register and receive their ticket for this premiere hiring event."

DWD partners with Employ Milwaukee to coordinate the Milwaukee Career Expo, providing businesses and workforce talent with added value through stronger connections to employers that are ready to hire qualified individuals for posted job openings. Registered businesses include: Hottman Construction Company, Quad/Graphics, Roundy's and Time Warner Cable. Good-paying jobs are available in manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, human resources, customer service, sales and many other occupations with hourly wages of up to $30 per hour.

“The Career Expo is a great way for Milwaukee job seekers to meet employers across industries. I would highly encourage anyone looking for a job, or to change jobs, to pre-register,” said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. “This is a great opportunity to find a family-supporting job or take steps toward a new career.”

The first 30 minutes of the Milwaukee Career Expo will be limited to U.S. military veterans seeking employment. The general public will be admitted at 11 a.m. Access to job seeker registration and ticket information is available online by clicking on "Job Seeker Registration" at WisconsinCareerExpo.com.

DWD and Employ Milwaukee recommend that registered job seekers prepare for hiring opportunities by checking the list of participating Milwaukee Career Expo employers, then visiting JobCenterofWisconsin.com to learn more about positions that employers are seeking to fill at the event.
