Oriental Theatre announces Thanksgiving film selections
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Oriental Theatre in Milwaukee has unveiled its film lineup for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23, offering a variety of experiences for any genre a filmgoer might be interested in before or after a Thanksgiving feast.
The Holdovers, from director Alexander Payne, features Paul Giamatti as a prep school instructor bonding with a troubled student and the school’s cook during the holidays. This drama will be screened at 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Priscilla, directed by Sofia Coppola, delves into the life of teenage Priscilla Beaulieu and her relationship with Elvis Presley. This intimate portrayal will be shown at 1 p.m.
Napoleon, a Ridley Scott epic, depicts the tumultuous life of Napoleon Bonaparte, played by Joaquin Phoenix. The film is scheduled for 12:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 6:45 p.m.
Dream Scenario, a comedy by Kristoffer Borgli, stars Nicolas Cage as Paul Matthews, whose life is upended when he appears in the dreams of millions. Audiences can catch this film at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Additionally, the Oriental Theatre is hosting a special Black Friday showing at 11:55 p.m. of the Nicolas Cage horror film Mandy. Set in the Pacific Northwest in 1983, Mandy revolves around Red Miller and Mandy Bloom’s tranquil life, which is disrupted by a sadistic cult, leading to Red's journey for vengeance.
