Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Joey
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Open enrollment begins Thursday allowing people to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Health Care Act.
Open enrollment runs through December 15.
Milwaukee city, county and health leaders met Thursday to kick off the enrollment period. The Milwaukee Enrollment Network is providing public enrollment locations and assistance across the city throughout the next few weeks.
Leaders say around 68,000 people are uninsured in Milwaukee County, but most are eligible for health insurance.
“Everyone will be able to go online, healthcare.gov, or with an enrollment assistant to find what is helpful for them financially and what covers their doctors and prescriptions and everything else they need,” Milwaukee Enrollment program manager Caroline Gomez-Tom said.
People can learn more by visiting the open enrollment website or to get assistance in Milwaukee County, you can call 2-1-1.
