One dead, four others hurt after two crashes and OWI arrests in Dane County

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin State Patrol says one person is dead and four other people were injured in two separate incidents involving a wrong-way driver.
State troopers responded to the initial crash overnight on Sun. July 20, along I-39 Northbound.
Officials say at around 12:03 a.m., a full-size SUV suspected to be traveling the wrong way, southbound in the northbound lanes, struck a compact SUV traveling in the opposite direction.
The passenger of the compact SUV died at the scene, and crews transported the driver to the other hospital via helicopter.
The impact of the crash caused the full-size SUV to start on fire. The driver was also taken to the hospital for injuries and placed under arrest for operating while impaired.
During the investigation of that crash, a secondary crash occurred on the southbound side of the interstate.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says a southbound sedan crossed the yellow line and struck a Deforest police squad car that was parked and had its emergency lights on.
Both occupants of the sedan were transported to the hospital with injuries. The driver was also arrested for OWI.
All names are being withheld pending next of kin notification.
