MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Garrett Weber-Gale stole the show at the Beijing Olympics 12 years ago.
The Nicolet grad won two gold medals in the pool, including the US's epic comeback in the 4 by 100 meter freestyle relay.
CBS 58's Scott Grodsky caught up with the Olympic champion.
Weber-Gale was actually planning on going to Tokyo to cheer on team USA.
Like the games, those plans are on hold, and the two-time gold medalist is left wondering what if this had happened when he was competing.
"In some ways, look at it and just be grateful for what you had," he said. "I had the Olympics happen when they were supposed to happen. You feel for the athletes going through it right now."
Weber-Gale says the biggest challenge the athletes face now is mentally resetting for the new dates.
