Old World 3rd Street bar to close after 10 years of service

Buckhead Saloon located at 1044 North Old World 3rd Street, will be closing its doors for good on September 26, according to a post on the bar’s Facebook page.

The owners said they will be opening a new concept in November.

Here is the post on the bar’s Facebook page:

“To all of our loyal customers, past and present, Buckhead Saloon will be closing its doors for good this Sunday, after 10 years of serving the greater Milwaukee area. We will be open this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9pm – close, with a special SIN send off from 6-10pm on Sunday. There will be no cover before 11pm, as we want you to take one last time to party with us and reminisce over the last decade. Thank you to all of you that have supported Buckhead Saloon as a customer or as a staff member! To the staff, past and present, your efforts to entertain the masses of Milwaukee will never be forgotten. Everyone in Milwaukee has had a story or 2 about 1 crazy night at Buckhead Saloon. Your efforts created those memories that will last forever, and for that, Milwaukee thanks you.
We do want to say a special thank you to 1 person in particular. Staff, Management, and even ownership has changed over the last decade, but one thing stayed the same - Mr. Shaun Thompson. You opened Buckhead as a bartender, met your wife here, got married, stayed working all 10 years and will close as the GM of a Milwaukee legend. Your support and commitment is appreciated by all who have stepped foot in the door. From the families of the current owners, we would like to extend a sincere Thank You! We are just a couple of Milwaukee guys who love this town, and appreciate the support that you have shown to our business.
Excitement is in the air, as we announce that construction will commence immediately, and we will be opening a NEW CONCEPT in November 2015!”
