Brookfield (CBS 58)--A place of rest becomes a patriotic shrine of sorts on this July 4th holiday. 1200 flags, each 6' x 9', are part of the landscape at Wisconsin Memorial Park off Capitol Drive in Brookfield. Military families donated all these “old glories.”
They actually go up for Memorial Day and remain on display through the 4th. Some have worn over time and are being replaced with nylon material instead of cotton.
Inside the mausoleum at Wisconsin Memorial Park, there’s a tribute to all our presidents and a rotunda with mosaic walls featuring various elements of our country’s history.
