Officials: Remains of Shawano County brothers recovered in Missouri and Nebraska

CALDWELL COUNTY, Mo. (CBS 58) -- Missouri officials confirm they've recovered the remains of Justin and Nicholas Diemel, two brothers who went missing from Wisconsin. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office says dental records confirmed both identities. 

Investigators recovered the remains of Nick on a farm in rural Caldwell County, Missouri; Justin's remains were found in a livestock trailer in Lincoln County, Nebraska.

The brothers of Shawano County, Wisconsin, were reported missing July 21. 

Prosecutors allege a Garland Nelson of Missouri, abandoned a rental truck used by the brothers, after they visited the Nelson farm in Braymer, Missouri. Nelson is charged with two counts of murder in the first degree, two counts of abandonment of a corpse, two counts of tampering with physical evidence, two counts of armed criminal action, tampering with a motor vehicle, and unlawful possession of a firearm. 

Nelson is currently being held without bond. 

An investigation is ongoing by the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
