Officials: 3 juveniles steal vehicle at gunpoint in Kenosha, lead police on pursuit

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Three juveniles were taken into custody after police say they stole a vehicle at gunpoint in Kenosha. 

Police say on Monday, Oct. 12, around 4:30 a.m., a citizen flagged down a Kenosha officer and reporter their car was stolen at gunpoint. 

Minutes later, police say officers spotted the stolen vehicle and a pursuit began. 

Police located the stolen vehicle unoccupied and near a retention pond in the Whitecaps subdivision, and quickly located three juveniles walking away from the area.

The group was stopped and the investigation led to the juveniles being taken into temporary custody. 

Police recovered evidence in the retention pond. 

Kenosha police investigators will be referring charges including but not limited to, armed robbery and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.
