OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A new stadium at Oak Creek High School is now open, thanks to the help of some students and a local construction company.
The Knight Construction program helps students get hands-on experience working on construction projects. This year, the construction project was right on campus.
Students spent several months rebuilding the Oak Creek High School stadium.
“It's been really cool. I like seeing the process of how everything is built and whatnot. It’s been a blast. It’s been real fun," said Brady Mattson, a senior.
With help from Boldt company, students laid bricks, repainted, and paved parts of the stadium.
Four seniors now have full-time offers with construction and trade companies after graduation and committed at the ribbon cutting ceremony today.
"Well, my dad was a carpenter and I’ve always been helping him with stuff and doing a lot of different things. I like working with my hands and being hands on," said senior Deklan Sobieski.
