Northern Wisconsin County Pays for Credit Monitoring for 80 Inmates

Vilas County has offered to pay for credit monitoring for 80 inmates whose social security information was inadvertently included in a posting on the county’s website, according to a letter from Vilas County.

The county sent a letter to the inmates notifying them of the incident.

According to the letter, the information was immediately removed from the website.

The county has offered to pay for one year of free credit monitoring.
