North Side Burglary Suspect Arrested, Connected to Similar Crime Days Before
A Milwaukee man was arrested for burglarizing a business in the 1300 block of West Vliet Street, and Milwaukee Police believe he is responsible for a similar crime just days before.
District Three officers responded to a business in the 1300 block of West Vliet Street just after 4:00 AM on September 15.
Officers found the business’ front window had been smashed and the front door unlocked.
The owner of the business provided the officers security video that showed a man breaking the window with a brick and entering the store. Officers took note of the suspect’s description and located him a short time later in the 1200 block of North 13th Street.
The 51-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested and it was determined he was the same suspect sought in the burglary of the same store on September 9.
The suspect was wearing the same clothing in both instances and used a brick in both crimes. The suspect is also believed to be responsible for a strong armed robbery that happened on September 7 in the 1500 block of N. 7th Street. MPD will present charges in this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
