North 25th Street Bridge Over the Menomonee River to Close

The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that the North 25th Street bridge over the Menomonee River in the Menomonee Valley will be closed for repairs beginning Monday, September 14, 2015. The project is expected to be completed in mid-October 2015, weather permitting.

West Canal Street and the roundabout at W. Canal and N. 25th streets will remain open during this project. However, roundabout traffic will not have access to N. 25th St. going north.

DPW will place detour signs in the area to assist motorists to their Valley destinations including the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, Marquette University's Valley Fields, and Palermo's Pizza. The public can still access Zimmerman Architectural Studios, 2122 W. Mt. Vernon Ave. from the north on North 25th St. for Doors Open Milwaukee and the Milwaukee River Challenge.

The North 25th Street bridge project will include replacing the bridge expansion joint and adjacent concrete. During the closure, potholes on the bridge deck will be filled.
