Nominations open for Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week program

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Green Bay Packers are accepting nominations for their High School Coach of the Week program. The initiative aims to acknowledge one Wisconsin high school football coach each week during the 2023 season.

Eligible coaches will receive several benefits, including a $2,000 donation to their school's football program. The donation is made jointly by the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Wild Wings and the NFL.

Being recognized is not meant to be based strictly about wins and losses. Criteria for nominations include a coach's influence on the players, families and community, as well as the turnaround of football programs.

Besides a cash donation, winners are recognized on Packers.com, WisSports.net, and Wifca.org and will also be featured in the Packers Gameday program.

Nominations must be submitted by 10 a.m. every Monday. They can be sent to Ryan Fencl, Packers football outreach manager, at [email protected]. Nominations should include the nominee's name, address, school, phone number and a description of why the coach deserves the award.

At season's end, one coach will be honored as the WFCA/Green Bay Packers High School Football Coach of the Year with a $4,000 donation and a recognition ceremony at Lambeau Field on Sunday, Dec. 17.
