MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee hosted Noche de Niños in the city's Walker's Point neighborhood.
The group had been collecting toys for the past month that will be donated to a number of organizations including Running Rebels, United Community Center, and Silver Spring Neighborhood Center.
Attendees on Wednesday were also encouraged to bring a toy that will be handed out to children in the area.
Organizers say it's all about giving back.
"There are a lot of families and a lot of children that for them, what they get tonight and through other organizations is probably the only toy that they'll get this holiday season and I think it's important that as much as we like to receive, it's also important to give back,"said Griselda Aldrete, CEO of Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee.
CBS 58 Morning News Anchor Jessica Tighe hosted the event for the second year in a row.
More than 1,700 toys were collected at the event alone. More than 2,600 toys have been collected overall.
