Hometowns tour of area’s favorite spots for sports merchandise
After a steadier area of rain pushed through with a cold front earlier today, we were treated to a few peeks of sunshine this afternoon. Clouds will fill back in as we head into the evening with isolated, light rain showers passing through from time to time.
Unfortunately, today was the nicer of the two weekend days as this low will sit on top of us and strengthen on Sunday. Plan on cloudy skies, blustery winds, and light rain showers off and on throughout the day. Some wet snow may also mix in at times, but no accumulation is expected.
Believe it or not, the weather will get even worse as we move into Monday. We're expecting an area of wet snow Monday morning, mixing with and changing over to rain in the afternoon.
Given the prolonged period of wet snow, we will probably see a coating of accumulation on the grass, especially north of I-94. It will gradually melt in the afternoon as temps warm.
On top of that, the wind will get even stronger with gusts up to 35 mph. Combine that with highs only in the low to mid 40s, and it'll be two rather raw spring days.
Windy conditions continue through Tuesday with this system finally pulling away by the middle of next week. There are also signs of hope for warmer spring weather once we get to the week of Mother's Day.
