Nicolet High School Alum Wins at the Oscars

A graduate from Nicolet High School walked away a double winner at the Oscars.

Last night, Justin Hurwitz won an Oscar for best original score and best original song in La La Land.

The district said that the only music class Hurwitz took while at Nicolet was a music theory class.

He was often found playing the piano between classes or after school.

That piano is still at the school and was actually use for the school musical of the weekend ragtime.

The orchestra director here at Nicolet said he knew Hurwitz would go on to do great things.

He just didn't know how great.
