News Bucks Arena and Entertainment District Designs Approved

There are newly approved designs for the Bucks Arena and Entertainment District.

The Milwaukee Common Council gave the okay for the entertainment district design Wednesday morning.

The pedestrian mall will sit at the site of the former 4th and Highland parking structure.

It will be a flexible space that can have multiple uses.

For example, it can host a farmers market, concerts, small basketball tournaments with a number of green spaces for people to relax.

Milwaukee Buck President Peter Feigin says this will be a year round destination and it's something that can transform the city.

Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton says it will transform the downtown Milwaukee experience.

"The mall will play a major role in the whole experience in going to see games and coming down to the arena," Hamilton told CBS 58 News. "I think this live block is something people should get excited about."

The entertainment block is expected to be done in time for the opening of the new area in the fall of 2018
