Brown Deer appoints new chief of police

BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Village of Brown Deer Police Commission appointed Peter Nimmer as Brown Deer's new chief of police.

Incoming Chief Nimmer will begin his service with Brown Deer police on Sept. 1.

Chief Nimmer has 23 years of service in law enforcement, beginning his career in 1998 with the Brown Deer Police Department after four years of service in the United States Marine Corps.

Most recently, Nimmer served as the chief of police for the Village of Shorewood in 2015.
